Odd-even staggering for production cross sections ofnuclei near the neutron drip-line

Bo Mei

Summary: This study quantitatively investigates the odd-even staggering (OES) in experimental cross sections of very neutron-rich nuclei near the drip-line, validating the universality and relations proposed in previous studies. New OES evaluations derived from these experimental data are recommended for exotic nuclei near the neutron drip-line, extending the conclusions of previous OES research. The calculations of OES relations are consistent with experimental data of very neutron-rich nuclides, supporting their applicability for exotic nuclei near the neutron drip-line.

Single-neutron removal from 14,15,16C near 240 MeV/nucleon

Y. Z. Sun et al.

Summary: The inclusive single-neutron removal cross sections of C-14, C-15, and C-16 on a carbon target were measured at around 240 MeV/nucleon at the HIRFL-CSR External Target Facility and compared with Glauber model predictions. The experimental results for the spectroscopic factor reduction conform to earlier studies, with the incident beam energy affecting the single-nucleon removal process.

Accurate odd-even staggering relations for fragmentation and spallation cross sections

B. Mei

Summary: The study reveals a universal odd-even staggering (OES) relation in fragmentation and spallation reactions, which can be used to accurately calculate cross sections and show good agreement with experimental data. The simple OES relations proposed in this work provide new paths for very accurate and fast calculations of fragmentation and spallation cross sections, and can be used to explore undiscovered isotopes.
