Emergent neutrinos from heavy messengers

Pascal Anastasopoulos et al.

Summary: The study explores the role of fermionic bound states (mesinos) of messengers as right-handed neutrinos in realizing the seesaw mechanism. By analyzing simple models with single and three mesino states, it is demonstrated that both light and heavy sterile neutrinos can be obtained through the seesaw mechanism.

Mounting evidence for a 95 GeV Higgs boson

Summary: In this study, CMS reported excess signals in two decay modes of the Higgs boson, supporting its existence. The researchers also concluded that these excess signals can be explained by the Two-Higgs Doublet Model with an additional real singlet.

Heavy Majorana neutrino pair production from Z' at hadron and lepton colliders

Arindam Das et al.

Summary: Investigated the Majorana type right-handed neutrinos in the U(1) extension of the Standard Model and obtained constraints on the U(1) gauge coupling through experimental observations. Estimated the bounds on the Majorana type right-handed neutrinos mass and Z' mass by comparing with backgrounds at different center of mass energies.

2020 global reassessment of the neutrino oscillation picture

P. F. de Salas et al.

Summary: The latest global fit analysis of neutrino oscillation data provides more accurate measurements of theta(13), theta(12), Delta m212, and Delta m312 and suggests a preference for the second octant in the atmospheric angle theta(23) with statistical significance. Cosmological measurements show a clear preference for the normal neutrino mass ordering.

Parton distributions from LHC, HERA, Tevatron and fixed target data: MSHT20 PDFs

S. Bailey et al.

Summary: The new MSHT20 set of parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the proton, determined from global analyses of hard scattering data, includes updates such as improved parameterizations, new precise data, and NNLO QCD corrections. The NNLO fit is strongly favored over the NLO due to wider range and increased precision of data included in the fit, resulting in reduced uncertainties in predictions for processes such as Higgs, top quark pair, and W, Z production at post LHC Run-II energies.

Classification of nonsupersymmetric Pati-Salam heterotic string models

Alon E. Faraggi et al.

Summary: The study extends the classification of fermionic Z(2) x Z(2) heterotic string orbifolds to nonsupersymmetric Pati-Salam models, extracting tachyon-free four-dimensional models with certain probabilities, and introducing the "fertility methodology" to facilitate model extraction. It is shown that (S) over tilde models do not contain heavy Higgs scalar representations necessary for breaking the PS symmetry to the Standard Model, suggesting that the SO(10) grand unified theory symmetry must be broken at the string scale to the Standard-like Model subgroup. Tachyon-free three generation models with equal number of massless bosonic and fermionic degrees of freedom are extracted in both cases, with their one-loop partition function analyzed.

New CTEQ global analysis of quantum chromodynamics with high-precision data from the LHC

Tie-Jiun Hou et al.

Summary: The new parton distribution functions (PDFs) from the CTEQ-TEA collaboration are determined using a wide variety of high-precision Large Hadron Collider (LHC) data, in addition to other datasets. These PDFs are analyzed at next-to-leading order and next-to-next-to-leading order, with error sets determined using the Hessian method. The data sensitivity and preference towards quantities such as α(s)(m(Z)), and the gluon and strange quark distributions are quantified using fast PDF survey techniques.
