Parts per trillion detection of heavy metals in as-is tap water using carbon nanotube microelectrodes

Pankaj Gupta et al.

Summary: Heavy metal contamination in drinking water is a global issue exceeding WHO and EPA standards; a microelectrode with highly sensitize detection capabilities for heavy metals in tap water and simulated drinking water was developed to address this problem.

Near-electrode pH change for voltammetric detection of insoluble lead carbonate

Artur Huseinov et al.

Summary: Lead contamination in drinking water is a significant concern for residents of old cities with lead pipes and soldering still in use. A simple voltammetric technique has been developed to quantitatively detect insoluble lead species, offering a rapid and reagentless method for in-situ detection. This method shows promise for accurately assessing lead contamination in water sources.

Nanoelectrode Ensembles Consisting of Carbon Nanotubes

Gabrielle R. Dangel et al.

Summary: The incorporation of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and their assemblies into macroscopic materials is leading the way in scientific innovation. The fabrication of random arrays of CNT cross-sections and their performance as nanoelectrode ensembles (NEEs) allows for easier production of nanoscale electrodes with unique electrochemical properties. Surface analysis and electrochemical testing demonstrated the stable nature of NEEs and their high sensitivity and wide linear range in Pb2+ detection.
