Enhanced hydrogen storage capacity of copper containing mesoporous silicas prepared using different methods

This paper focuses on the synthesis ofmesoporousmaterials, Al-MCM-41, dopedwith copper using differentmethods. The results showthat themethod of synthesis affects the structural and textural properties of these solids. Their application in hydrogen storage shows that the adsorption is enhanced when using a solid containingCu(+2) ions, with an adsorption capacity around 1.8 wt% at 77K, while the solids containingCuOparticles present amediumadsorption capacity. Temperature variation plays a very important role in determining the adsorption capacity and the best results are obtained at 77K.
