Ultrastable Porous Covalent Organic Framework Assembled Carbon Nanotube as a Novel Nanocontainer for Anti-Corrosion Coatings: Experimental and Computational Studies

Navid Keshmiri et al.

Summary: Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a type of organic structure with high crystallinity, porosity, and tunability, and they exhibit high stability in harsh chemical environments. In this study, a porous COF structure was synthesized and used as a nanocontainer for corrosion inhibitors to create a coating with excellent anti-corrosion properties. The COF-based nanoparticles showed high inhibition efficiency and smart release of the inhibitor, and the COF/EP coating had improved barrier and mechanical properties compared to neat epoxy.

Si diffusion induced adhesion and corrosion resistance in annealed RF sputtered SiC films on graphite substrate

Nisar Ahmed et al.

Summary: In this study, the adhesion and corrosion resistance of silicon carbide (SiC) coating on graphite substrate were improved by annealing treatment. The amorphous SiC film transformed into a crystalline and dense film upon annealing, and the diffusion of silicon into the graphite matrix contributed to the improvement in adhesion. Furthermore, the annealing at 1200 degrees C and 1400 degrees C enhanced the corrosion resistance due to the diffusion of silicon and the compactness of the film.

A. Karthik et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the impact of Cerium oxide on grain size and corrosion behavior of AA2219 produced by the Squeeze casting technique. By using electron backscatter diffraction EBSD, the study reveals that the addition of Cerium oxide reduces grain size, enhances mechanical properties, and improves corrosion resistance of the composite material. Additionally, microscopic characterization shows that samples with higher reinforcement of 2% CeO2 are more resistant to pitting attack due to the dispersoids' hydrophobic nature.
