Self-healing silicon-containing eugenol-based epoxy resin based on disulfide bond exchange: Synthesis and structure-property relationships

By utilizing a series of polymers designed based on polypropylene glycol (PPG)-based polyurethane (PU), the new polymer integrates two types of covalently reversible dynamic bonds, Diels-Alder and disulfide bonds, for the first time, creating a material with high stretchability, fast healing abilities, skin adhesion, recyclability, high transparency, and tactile sensing abilities. This provides an alternative strategy for the development of skin-inspired multifunctional materials for e-skin applications.
