Nanoparticle deposition on heterogeneous surfaces: Random sequential and

Marta Sadowska et al.

Summary: The deposition of positively charged polymer nanoparticles on heterogeneous surfaces formed by a controlled self-assembly of larger particles on silica sensors was quantitatively described using Monte-Carlo type random sequential modeling. The maximum coverage of nanoparticles linearly decreases with the heterogeneity degree, and the nanoparticle layers exhibit short-range ordering similar to a two-dimensional liquid phase. Theoretical results derived from the modeling help interpret nanoparticle deposition kinetics obtained by atomic force microscopy and quartz microbalance, expanding the applicability range of this technique.

Standard and inverse site percolation of straight rigid rods on triangular lattices: Isotropic and perfectly oriented deposition and removal

L. S. Ramirez et al.

Summary: Numerical simulations and finite-size scaling analysis were conducted to study the percolation behaviors of straight rigid rods on triangular lattices, including standard and inverse percolation. The research found that percolation thresholds are dependent on the particle size k, exhibit symmetry, and have different characteristics in various models.

Scaling behavior of information entropy in explosive percolation transitions

Yejun Kang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the information entropy of cluster-size distribution in explosive percolation transitions, finding that the scaling form of the distribution differs below and above the threshold, leading to specific behaviors in the first and second derivatives of the information entropy near the threshold.
