Blue light photocatalysis of carbazole-based conjugated microporous polymers: Aerobic hydroxylation of phenylboronic acids to phenols

Summary: In this study, carbazole-based conjugated micro porous polymers (CMPs), TCB-CMP and EFC-CMP, were fabricated and used for aerobic hydroxylation of phenylboronic acids in ethanol. EFC-CMP exhibited superior photocatalytic activity compared to TCB-CMP, enabling highly selective hydroxylation reactions.

Porous organic polymers for light-driven organic transformations

Summary: This review systematically presents the recent advances in porous organic polymers (POPs) for visible-light driven organic transformations. The common construction strategies for POP-based photocatalysts are summarized, and the synthesis methods and organic reaction types for constructing various types of POPs are categorized and summarized. The specific reactions of current light-driven POP-mediated organic transformations are classified and introduced. The current state of development and the problems faced in light-driven organic transformations by POPs are outlined, and some perspectives are presented to motivate exploration of solutions to these problems and confront the present challenges in the development process.

Phenothiazine-based conjugated microporous polymers: Pore surface and bandgap engineering for visible light-driven aerobic oxidative cyanation

Summary: The photocatalytic aerobic oxidative cyanation of tertiary amines using phenothiazine-containing conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) as heterogeneous visible light-active photocatalysts showed superior catalytic activity, extensive substrate adaptability, and outstanding recyclability. Fine molecular engineering with electron-donating and -withdrawing groups on the comonomer compositions allowed for tuning of the pore surface and band gap of CMPs, leading to enhanced photo-induced charge separation and interaction with substrates. The fluorine-substituted CMP-PTZ-3 demonstrated high efficiency, good stability, and regenerability as a pure organic photocatalyst, providing new insights in designing high-performance photocatalysts through molecular engineering strategy.

1,2,3-Triazole-based conjugated porous polymers for visible light induced oxidative organic transformations

Conjugated microporous polymers as a visible light driven platform for photo-redox conversion of biomass derived chemicals
