Summary: This article proposes a decentralized, secure, and privacy-preserving scheme for bidirectional power trading between electric vehicles (EVs) and the power grid using consortium blockchain. Optimization of charging and discharging time periods of EVs is suggested to minimize total load deviation, with an improved krill herd (KH) algorithm employed to solve the large-scale mixed-integer programming problem. Simulation results show that the model effectively smooths load fluctuations, and the improved KH algorithm enhances the rate and accuracy of solving the model.

Summary: The Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) plays an essential role in the economic and technological development of a country, especially with the rise of green ITS research opportunities driven by communication technology maturity and the integration of smart grids and electric vehicles (EVs). However, the untrusted centralized nature of energy markets and EV charging infrastructures poses privacy and security threats to EV user’s private information, leading to the proposal of BlockEV as a blockchain-based solution to address these issues.

Summary: The integration of Information and Communication Technologies with power grids has led to the emergence of sophisticated Smart Grids (SGs), which require complex networking technologies. To address security and privacy concerns in SG ecosystems introduced by distributed energy sources like electric vehicles and renewable energy sources, a framework based on Software Defined Networking (SDN) and BlockChain (BC) is proposed. This framework leverages SDN to manage interactions between different SG subsystems and utilizes BC and smart contracts to ensure energy transaction security and data communication. The proposed mutual authentication protocol using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and BC is secure against various attack vectors and cost-efficient.

Summary: This study presents a blockchain-based Internet of Energy (IoE) solution for optimal charging and resource control in the era of electric vehicles, incorporating energy trading and security aspects. Hierarchical key generation, lattice-based cryptographic keys, and PBFT-based consensus are utilized to address security challenges faced by IoE. The addition of smart contracts for energy transfer utilization enhances transparency, reliability, and failure recovery, demonstrating superiority over existing approaches through experimental results, comparative analysis, and security validation.

Summary: The paper proposes a blockchain-based P2P energy trading scheme that addresses energy pricing and traded energy problems for demand response through a double auction mechanism, maximizing social welfare while ensuring privacy protection. The proposed scheme improves transaction security substantially and achieves significant improvements in convergence rate, scalability metric average latency, and standard deviation of energy transactions compared to existing schemes.
