Summary: Ethyl gallate (EG) has anti-atherosclerosis effects by promoting cellular cholesterol efflux, reducing lipid accumulation in response to oxidized LDL, and inhibiting the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines. These effects are mediated through HDL cholesterol efflux mechanisms and suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion.
