Summary: Solid porous and crystalline covalent organic frameworks have high specific surface areas and functional pore walls, allowing adsorption of bioactive molecules. A perylene-based COF was developed as a reservoir for an anticancer drug and the intracellular release of the drug was achieved using serum albumin.
