BICEP/Keck constraints on attractor models of inflation and reheating

John Ellis et al.

Summary: Recent BICEP/Keck data, combined with previous WMAP and Planck data, provide strong new constraints on the tilt in the scalar perturbation spectrum (n(s)) and the tensor-to-scalar ratio (r). These constraints are evaluated in attractor models of inflation formulated in no-scale supergravity, and they determine the number of e-folds of inflation (N-*), the magnitude of the inflaton coupling to matter (y), and the reheating temperature (T-reh). The 68% C.L. region prefers large values of N-*, y, and T-reh, which are constrained by the production of gravitinos and supersymmetric dark matter.

How to constrain warm dark matter with the Lyman-α forest

Antonella Garzilli et al.

Summary: The flux power spectrum of the high-resolution Lyman-alpha forest data shows suppression at small scales, potentially from warm dark matter or thermal effects related to the unknown reionization history of the Universe. This study explores reionization histories that leave more room for the interpretation of suppression by warm dark matter. Results indicate that thermal relics of WDM with masses below 1.9 keV would produce a suppression at larger scales than observed, demonstrating systematic uncertainty of the Lyman-alpha forest technique.

Lower mass bounds on FIMP dark matter produced via freeze-in

Francesco D'Eramo et al.

Summary: In this study, different production mechanisms of FIMPs were considered, including decays and collisions. The FIMP phase space distribution and matter power spectrum were computed to investigate the suppression of cosmological structures, showing lower bounds on the FIMP mass. Additionally, constraints were relaxed in scenarios where FIMPs provide a sub-dominant dark matter component.

On the realization of WIMPflation

Marcos A. G. Garcia et al.

Summary: In this study, models for inflation with a stable inflaton and reheating through scattering processes are considered. It is shown that for a relatively large coupling, reheating is almost instantaneous leading to a relatively high reheating temperature. It is argued that such models can be derived from no-scale supergravity, leading to a scalar singlet dark matter candidate and Higgs portal model.

Out of sight, out of mind? The impact of correlated clustering in substructure lensing

Alexandres Lazar et al.

Summary: By studying the role of local clustering in boosting the lensing probability, relative to contributions from substructure and unclustered line-of-sight haloes, it was found that local clustering can significantly enhance the lensing probability, especially for low-redshift lenses. Additionally, the orientation of the lens with respect to the line of sight was also found to have a significant effect on the lensing signal, potentially increasing counts compared to random orientations.

How warm are non-thermal relics? Lyman-α bounds on out-of-equilibrium dark matter

Guillermo Ballesteros et al.

Summary: This study investigates the power spectrum of Non-Cold Dark Matter produced in a state out of thermal equilibrium, considering various sources of dark matter production. A mapping procedure is proposed to translate the WDM Lyman-alpha mass bound to NCDM scenarios, providing bounds on several NCDM possibilities. The results have implications for specific examples of dark matter scenarios.

Gravitational SIMPs

Summary: The study suggests that the self-interaction of dark matter can expand the viable parameter space, allowing lower reheating temperatures to be compatible with the observed relic abundance of cosmic microwave background radiation. Dark matter and leptogenesis from gravitational production

Nicolas Bernal et al.

Summary: The study explores the possibility that dark matter is generated purely from gravitational scatterings together with long-lived heavy Majorana right-handed neutrinos. The late decay of these neutrinos could inject significant entropy into the thermal bath, affecting the dark matter abundance and cosmic baryon asymmetry.

Curing inflationary degeneracies using reheating predictions and relic gravitational waves

Swagat S. Mishra et al.

Summary: In this study, the authors discuss degeneracies in inflationary cosmology predictions for CMB observables and demonstrate how constraints on post-inflationary reheating parameters can break this degeneracy in certain inflationary models. The study also shows how relic gravitational waves provide valuable information about the post-inflationary epoch and can be used to cure inflationary degeneracies in {n(S), r}. Through considering reheating parameters and relic gravitational waves, various inflationary degeneracies can be addressed and resolved.

Decoding the phases of early and late time reheating through imprints on primordial gravitational waves

Md Riajul Haque et al.

Summary: This study explores the effects of reheating on the spectrum of primordial gravitational waves observed today. It reveals that the perturbative decay of the inflaton leads to oscillations in the GW spectrum, potentially aiding in deciphering finer aspects of the reheating mechanism. Furthermore, it suggests that for specific values of the EoS parameter governing the secondary phase of reheating, the strength of GWs can match recent NANOGrav observations.

Summary: This study investigates the direct s-channel gravitational production of dark matter during the reheating process, finding that the abundance of dark matter primarily depends on the combination T-max(4)/TRHMP3 and can be produced at sufficient densities over a wide range of dark matter masses, from 1 GeV to 1 ZeV.
