Various counteranions were exchanged to prepare stable ion pairs with the thiaporphyrin-Ni-II complex as a pi-electronic cation. The ion-pairing assembling modes, influenced by the geometries and electronic states of the counteranions, involved both charge-by-charge and charge-segregated contributions.
Various counteranions of the thiaporphyrin-Ni-II complex as a pi-electronic cation were exchanged for preparing stable ion pairs. The ion-pairing assembling modes, which included contributions of charge-by-charge and charge-segregated modes, and properties depended on the geometries and electronic states of the counteranions.
