Two new networks based on highly connected clusters and azido-bridged clusters were obtained using nicotinate N oxide as a co-ligand. Magnetic interactions were observed in one of the networks, and the other network is the first to contain mu(1,1,1,1) azido.
Two nets {(Co-6(L)(6)(mu(1,1,1)-N-3)(6)]center dot H2O)(n) (1) and {(Co-4(L)(4)(mu(1,1,1,1)-N-3) (mu(1,1)-N-3)(2)]center dot H+center dot 5H(2)O}(n) (2) based on highly connected ui,j,i and azido-bridged clusters were obtained with nicotinate N oxide(L) as the co-ligand. Magnetic interactions existed in 1 and 2, and 2 is the first mu(1,1,1,1) azido containing net.
