Performance Analysis of Satellite Communication System Under the Shadowed-Rician Fading: A Stochastic Geometry Approach

Dong-Hyun Jung et al.

Summary: This paper investigates downlink low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems, where multiple LEO satellites are uniformly distributed according to a homogeneous binomial point process (BPP). By analyzing distance distributions and serving satellite cases, the exact outage probability is derived for system throughput maximization under satellite-visibility and outage constraints.

On the Secrecy Performance of NOMA-Based Integrated Satellite Multiple-Terrestrial Relay Networks With Hardware Impairments

Kefeng Guo et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of hardware impairments on the secrecy performance of NOMA-based integrated satellite multiple-terrestrial relay networks, considering two eavesdropping cases and providing closed-form expressions and asymptotic analysis for the secrecy outage probability. Monte Carlo simulations are also conducted to evaluate the secrecy energy efficiency.

Stochastic Geometry-Based Analysis of LEO Satellite Communication Systems

Anna Talgat et al.

Summary: This study examines the performance of a low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite communication system, modeling the locations of LEO satellites as a binomial point process on a spherical surface. By comparing with fiber-connected base stations, it is found that adopting LEO satellite communication systems can improve coverage probability in rural and remote areas. Insights are drawn on the density of gateway stations needed to outperform base stations, as well as the number of LEO satellites and their altitudes.

An Updated Comparison of Four Low Earth Orbit Satellite Constellation Systems to Provide Global Broadband

Nils Pachler et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the economic viability of providing Internet access from space using NGSO, and provides a comparison of throughput estimation among four of the largest LEO mega-constellations. Telesat, OneWeb, SpaceX, and Amazon each employ different technological approaches to improve satellite efficiency, throughput, and overall performance.
