Light-Triggered Efficient Sequential Drug Delivery of Biomimetic Nanosystem for Multimodal Chemo-, Antiangiogenic, and Anti-MDSC Therapy in Melanoma

Xing Lai et al.

Summary: In order to improve cancer therapy, a nanosystem that can sequentially deliver drugs targeting different locations inside and outside tumor cells is desired. This study developed a light-triggered sequential delivery strategy using liposomal formulation to release drugs in a controlled manner, resulting in improved antiangiogenic therapy and immunosuppression reversal in the tumor microenvironment.

Algorithmically Guided Optical Nanosensor Selector (AGONS): Guiding Data Acquisition, Processing, and Discrimination for Biological Sampling

Christopher W. Smith et al.

Summary: This study presents a biomarker-free detection method for various biological targets using machine learning algorithms and automated selection processes. By using cost-efficient 2D nanoparticles and fluorescently labeled DNA components, nanosensors can be selected and predicted with 100% accuracy, enabling scaled-up data collection for machine learning modeling. This approach minimizes manpower, material cost, computational resources, instrumentation usage, and time, while providing greater predictive accuracy for optical nanosensor arrays.

Chromaticity Evolutionary Detection of Food Contaminant Semicarbazide through an Upconversion Luminescence-Based Nanosensor

Jiawei Zhu et al.

Summary: An upconversion luminescence-based nanosensor was designed for visual detection of SEM with high sensitivity and good selectivity. The nanosensor exhibited selective absorbance enhancement and UCL quenching behavior with the addition of SEM based on the inner filter effect, leading to greatly improved sensitivity and a low limit of detection. The satisfactory recovery values in spiked real samples indicated the practical applicability of the nanosensor for sensitive and convenient sensing of hazardous substances.

A Multidimensional UHPLC-DAD-QTOF-IMS Gradient Approach for Qualitative and Quantitative Investigation of Citrus and Malus Fruit Phenolic Extracts and Edibles

Vikas Dadwal et al.

Summary: A simple, rapid, and reproducible method for detecting phenolics in citrus and apple fruits was developed using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector-quadrupole time-of-flight-ion mobility mass spectrometry (UHPLC-DAD-QTOF-IMS). The method was effective in quantifying major flavonoids and PMFs in Citrus extracts, as well as dihydroxychalcones in Malus fruit. This approach can be applied for quality assurance and development of food and phenolic extracts derived from Citrus and Malus fruits.
