Flexible, robust, and high-performance gas sensors based on lignocellulosic nanofibrils

The fabricated nanofibrous filtration membranes exhibit good recyclability and sustainability for continuous adsorption and removal of fluoride ions from water.

Naproxen release behaviour from graphene oxide/cellulose acetate composite nanofibers

Summary: The present study investigated the effect of graphene oxide in cellulose acetate-based composite nanofibers on the transdermal delivery of naproxen. The addition of graphene oxide promoted the production of nanofibers with smaller diameter, higher conductivity, and higher mechanical strength, resulting in higher naproxen release from the nanofibers. The composite nanofiber also exhibited antibacterial activity and accelerated naproxen release at neutral pH, showing potential for wound healing applications.

Preparation and characterization of Alfa fibers/graphene nanoplatelets hybrid for advanced applications

TEMPO-oxidized cellulose fibers from wheat straw: Effect of ultrasonic pretreatment and concentration on structure and rheological properties of suspensions

Summary: Cellulose and TEMPO-oxidized cellulose fibers (TOCF) were prepared from wheat straw with ultrasonic and chemical treatments to investigate their structure and functionalities. Rheology was used to study the sol-gel transition of TOCF suspensions, showing that ultrasonic pretreatment and temperature affected the properties. While the functional groups were similar, XRD and TGA revealed different crystal structures and thermal stabilities. Gelation was independent of ultrasonic pretreatment, but rheological properties were highly influenced by concentration and temperature.
