Quantitative trait loci conferring blast resistance in hexaploid wheat at adult plant stage

Jessica Rosset Ferreira et al.

Summary: This study identified wheat quantitative trait loci (QTLs) conferring resistance to blast disease caused by the Magnaporthe oryzae Triticum pathotype (MoT), providing insights into the distribution and major mechanisms of related genes, and suggesting potential pathways for developing blast-resistant wheat cultivars.

Screening and Mapping for Head Blast Resistance in a Panel of CIMMYT and South Asian Bread Wheat Germplasm

Xinyao He et al.

Summary: A genome wide association study was conducted on wheat genotypes to identify stable resistance to wheat blast (WB), with most resistant accessions being carriers of the 2NS region and some exhibiting moderate resistance in the 2AS region. Significant marker-trait associations were found on chromosomes 1BS, 2AS, 6BS, and 7BL, with consistent MTAs on 2AS at the 2NS/2AS translocation region.

The Aegilops ventricosa 2NvS segment in bread wheat: cytology, genomics and breeding

Liangliang Gao et al.

Summary: This study provides the first cytological characterization of the 2N(v)S segment in hexaploid wheat, complete de novo assembly and annotation of the segment. The 2N(v)S segment is associated with resistance to multiple wheat diseases and has a positive impact on wheat grain yield, making it significant in wheat breeding.
