Synergistic dual conversion reactions assisting Pb-S electrochemistry for energy storage

Summary: In this paper, a reliable aqueous Pb-S battery based on a dual conversion reaction was constructed, and its feasibility and advantages were demonstrated. The unique properties of PbS, including inherent insolubility and dendrite-free nature, make it a promising cathode material. The aqueous Pb-S battery exhibited high discharge capacity and capacity retention after 400 cycles. Furthermore, the feasibility of the Pb-S system was also demonstrated in a hybrid cell.

The battery exhibited durable performance during long-term cycling.

The addition of DMF promotes stable solid electrolyte interphase formation, enhancing the electrochemical reversibility and cyclability of electrode materials in aqueous electrolytes.
