A dual-response ratiometric fluorescence imprinted sensor based on metal-organic frameworks for ultrasensitive visual detection of 4-nitrophenol in environments

Jinli Fu et al.

Summary: A dual-response ratiometric fluorescence imprinted sensor based on visible/near-infrared emission was developed for ultrasensitive, selective, and visual detection of 4-nitrophenol. The sensor exhibited a wide concentration response range with good linear response in the low concentration ranges of 0.08 pM and 0.05 mu M. Additionally, the observable fluorescence color changes with the naked eye provide a quick and visual method for identifying the target substance.

Carbon dots-embedded zinc-based metal-organic framework as a dual-emitting platform for metal cation detection

Jie Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, carbon dots (CDs) were synthesized using o-phenylenediamine through a hydrothermal method. A metal-organic framework (MOF) was used as a host to construct dual-emitting system (CDs@ZIF-8) for sensitive and selective detection of copper ions. The CDs@ZIF-8 fluorescent probe showed excellent sensitivity, selectivity, and environmental suitability for sensing Cu2+ ions, indicating a new potential for fabricating fluorescent molecular probes for heavy metal ion determination.

Tetraphenylethylene-based covalent organic frameworks as fluorescent chemosensor for rapid sensitive recognition and selective turn-on fluorescence detection of trace-level Al3- ion

Jian Xiu et al.

Summary: COF-DHTA shows moderate fluorescence emission and a highly selective fluorescence turn-on response towards Al3+ ions in DMF suspension. The coordination of Al3+ ions with N and O atoms on COF-DHTA and the suppression of PET contribute to the selective and sensitive fluorescence enhancement recognition and detection. This work may lead to the design of fluorescent COF chemosensors for specific metal ion recognition and detection.

A fluorescence turn-down-up detection of Cu2+and pesticide quinalphos using carbon quantum dot integrated UiO-66-NH2

Mihir K. Bera et al.

Summary: A fluorescent probe composed of carbon quantum dot integrated metal-organic framework (OPCD@UiO-66-NH2) was synthesized via a simple one-pot method, showing better fluorescence properties and photostability compared to pristine OPCD. The probe can detect the presence of Cu2+ and quinalphos, with the ability to establish a dual sensor for both chemicals. Its specific recognition towards quinalphos makes it suitable for real field applications.

Study on the fluorescent covalent organic framework for selective turn-off recognition and detection of Fe3+ ions

Tian Zhang et al.

Summary: TT-COF exhibits high selectivity and fluorescence quenching towards Fe3+ in ethanol, with a low detection limit. The unique pore structure and coordination with Fe3+ ions contribute to its high selectivity, confirmed through methods like EDTA. The coordination of TT-COF and Fe3+ ion was further supported by XPS spectra and DFT calculation, highlighting its potential as a fluorescence sensor for specific metal ions.

Coumarin-embedded MOF UiO-66 as a selective and sensitive fluorescent sensor for the recognition and detection of Fe3+ ions

Danyang Feng et al.

Summary: HCAA@UiO-66 is a fluorescent composite with a strong fluorescence emission and highly selective fluorescence response towards Fe3+ ions in ethanol. The fluorescence intensity at 451 nm shows a satisfactory linear relationship with the concentration of Fe3+ ions in a wide range, with a low detection limit. This encapsulation approach in MOFs proves to be an efficient method for fabricating fluorescent chemosensors for metal ion determination.
