A Comparative Analysis of Six Machine Learning Models Based on Ultrasound to Distinguish the Possibility of Central Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis in Patients With Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

Ying Zou et al.

Summary: Current approaches to predicting central cervical lymph node metastasis in PTC patients have been ineffective, but machine learning algorithms, particularly random forest, show promise in improving accuracy. Random forest algorithm performed the best in predicting CLNM in PTC patients, and its diagnostic model was most influenced by factors such as extrathyroidal extension, age, T stage, shape, and multifocality. Further prospective studies are needed to validate the potential of integrating machine learning methods into clinical decision-making processes.

Hyperspectral Microscopic Imaging for Automatic Detection of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Using Histologic Image and Machine Learning

Ling Ma et al.

Summary: The study aims to develop HSI for automatic detection of head and neck cancer cells. A compact HSI system was developed and a nuclei segmentation method based on PCA was proposed. SVM and CNN were used for nuclei classification, with CNN achieving higher accuracy.

Predictive factors for recurrence of papillary thyroid carcinoma: analysis of 4,085 patients

Andre Ywata de Carvalho et al.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed 4,085 patients who underwent thyroidectomy for PTC, and identified tumor size, multifocality, extrathyroidal extension, and lymph node metastasis as independent risk factors for recurrence. The ATA risk stratification system effectively predicted the likelihood of recurrence.
