Damage detection of CFRP composites by electromagnetic wave nondestructive testing (EMW-NDT)

Qing-Qing Ni et al.

Summary: This study proposed a new nondestructive testing method EMW-NDT using electromagnetic wave technique, showing good detection sensitivity to damages such as delamination size and thickness in CFRP composites. With huge potential, this contactless method could be widely used in the field of damage detection for CFRP composites.

Design of an Active Damping System for Vibration Control of Wind Turbine Towers

Hao Bai et al.

Summary: This paper aims to reduce vibration in wind turbine towers using an active damper named the twin rotor damper (TRD). The results show that the performance of the TRD surpasses the passive tuned mass damper (TMD) by three to six times in the first natural mode, effectively reducing ultimate loads on wind turbine towers.
