Extracellular Vesicles in Musculoskeletal Pathologies and Regeneration

Marietta Herrmann et al.

Summary: Increasing incidence of musculoskeletal diseases with aging population has led to growing interest in extracellular vesicles (EVs) in research. EVs play a crucial role in communication between cells and environment, with mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) being a commonly used source for EV generation and potentially influencing their regenerative potential. Implications for therapeutic applications and practical considerations of EV-based therapies are also discussed in the article.
