Ambulatory blood pressure trajectories and blood pressure variability in kidney transplant recipients: a comparative study against haemodialysis patients

Maria Korogiannou et al.

Summary: This study compared the full ambulatory blood pressure profile and short-term blood pressure variability in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) versus hemodialysis (HD) patients. The results showed that KTRs had significantly lower systolic blood pressure (SBP), pulse-pressure (PP) levels, and blood pressure variability compared to HD patients during all periods studied.

Less arterial stiffness in kidney transplant recipients than chronic kidney disease patients matched for renal function

Lynda Cheddani et al.

Summary: The study found that one year post-transplant, kidney transplant recipients had significantly less aortic stiffness compared to chronic kidney disease patients matched for glomerular filtration rate and other variables. The occurrence of high arterial stiffness was also significantly lower among kidney transplant recipients.

Blood pressure monitoring in kidney transplantation: a systematic review on hypertension and target organ damage

Anna Pisano et al.

Summary: This systematic review highlights that ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) is superior to traditional office blood pressure measurements in predicting renal function decline and cardiovascular events. Additionally, an abnormal circadian blood pressure pattern is associated with kidney function loss and cardiovascular abnormalities in KTRs.
