Ab initio and group theoretical study of properties of a carbon trimer defect in hexagonal boron nitride

Omid Golami et al.

Summary: In this theoretical study, the properties of the neutral C2CN carbon trimer defect in hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) are predicted using group theory and density-functional theory (DFT) calculations. The study investigates multiple-electron states, radiative and nonradiative transitions, as well as magnetic-field and hyperfine interactions. The findings are applied to predict an optically detected magnetic resonance signal and the g2(??) correlation function. These results have important implications for quantum information applications.

Identification of the spintronic NiGaVN center in c-GaN and its qubit applications

Ruixia Gao et al.

Summary: The study confirmed the presence of the Ni-Ga V-N(0) center in cubic gallium nitride, which exhibits spin-triplet characteristics, allowing for spin manipulation by changing the electron occupation number and optical excitation at lower energy. These findings provide an important basis for quantum computing and networks.
