Revisiting the Synthesis of Betti Bases: Facile, One-pot, and Efficient Synthesis of Betti Bases Promoted by FeCl3•6H2O

Ramsha Iftikhar et al.

Summary: In this study, a green methodology for the synthesis of Betti bases was developed using FeCl3 center dot 6H(2)O as a catalyst under neat conditions. The method exhibited higher atom economy and lower E-factor values, allowing for the efficient synthesis of functionalized Betti bases in a short period of time with yields ranging from 60% to 100% using various substrates.

Synthesis of (Hetero)Aryl-Functionalized Azaindoline Derivatives by Palladium-Catalyzed Domino Heck Cyclization/Hiyama Cross-Coupling

Hao Ye et al.

Summary: A palladium-catalyzed domino Heck cyclization/Hiyama cross-coupling has been successfully developed for the synthesis of (hetero)aryl-functionalized azaindoline derivatives bearing all-carbon quaternary centers in moderate to high yields. The synthetic versatility of this method is highlighted by its ability to perform gram-scale synthesis and modification of aryl-containing complex bioactive molecules.

Domino Heck/Hiyama cross-coupling: trapping of the σ-alkylpalladium intermediate with arylsilanes

Xin-Xing Wu et al.

Summary: This study describes a palladium-catalyzed domino Heck cyclization/Hiyama coupling reaction where the sigma-alkylpalladium intermediate is trapped with arylsilanes. A wide range of aryl-tethered alkenes and arylsilanes are compatible with the reaction conditions, showing good yields and excellent functional group tolerance. This approach presents a more practical and sustainable alternative to the conventional domino Heck cyclization/Suzuki coupling reaction.
