An efficient decomposition approach for the low-energy scheduling of a straight multiproduct pipeline

Ning Xu et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a hybrid-time mixed integer linear programming model for low-energy scheduling of single-source multiproduct pipelines, which efficiently divides the time horizon into slots and initializes all time points' sequence for seeking satisfactory solutions. The model's superiority is validated by two real-world cases.

GIS aided sustainable urban road management with a unifying queueing and neural network model

Huibo Bi et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a bi-level optimization algorithm based on queueing and neural network models to calculate the time and energy efficient actions and routes for different types of road users within an urban road network in real time, and encourages road users to follow optimal actions through an incentive mechanism. The case study in a designated area of Beijing shows that the use of this algorithm can significantly reduce average travel time and energy consumption compared to realistic trip data.

The coupling impact of subsystem interconnection and demand response on the distributed energy systems: A case study of the composite community in China

Rui Qiu et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the coupling impact of subsystem interconnection and demand response on the performance of Distributed Energy Systems (DES) using a multi-objective mathematical programming model. Results show that under this coupling impact, annual cost and carbon emission are further decreased, leading to improved system performance.
