A Scalable H2O-DMF-DMSO Solvent Synthesis of Highly Luminescent Inorganic Perovskite-Related Cesium Lead Bromides

Bo Zhou et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a water/DMSO/DMF system for the synthesis of all-inorganic cesium lead bromide perovskites, effectively addressing the solubility issue of CsBr in polar aprotic solvents. Reversible phase transitions between Cs4PbBr6, CsPbBr3 and CsPb2Br5 are achieved by solely changing the water content, enabling the recycle of the mother solution without generating additional hazardous waste.

Ligand-engineered bandgap stability in mixed-halide perovskite LEDs

Yasser Hassan et al.

Summary: By utilizing multidentate ligands to treat mixed-halide perovskite nanocrystals, efficient and color-stable red electroluminescence with a wavelength centered at 620 nanometers and an external quantum efficiency of 20.3% has been achieved. The key function of the ligand treatment is to 'clean' the nanocrystal surface by removing lead atoms, which suppresses the formation of iodine Frenkel defects and halide segregation. This work demonstrates the sensitivity of metal halide perovskites to surface properties and provides a pathway to control surface defect formation and migration, crucial for achieving bandgap stability for light emission and potentially impacting other optoelectronic applications.

In Situ Embedding Synthesis of Highly Stable CsPbBr3/CsPb2Br5@PbBr(OH) Nano/Microspheres through Water Assisted Strategy

Kaimin Du et al.

Summary: This study has successfully fabricated CsPbBr3/CsPb2Br5@PbBr(OH) nano/microspheres with superior stability and outstanding photoluminescence quantum yield using a water-assisted process. The nano/microspheres showed excellent stability and photoluminescence properties even when immersed in water for an extended period. Furthermore, white light-emitting diodes with high luminous efficacy were successfully developed using these nano/microspheres.

Highly Efficient CsPbBr3 Perovskite Nanocrystal Light-Emitting Diodes with Enhanced Stability via Colloidal Layer-by-Layer Deposition

Binze Zhou et al.

Summary: By precisely controlling the thickness of AlOx and inhibiting cation exchange, the photoluminescence intensity and stability of CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals have been significantly improved. The use of AlOx-treated CsPbBr3 nanocrystals in light-emitting diodes has led to a remarkable enhancement in external quantum efficiency (EQE) and luminance, while also prolonging the device lifetime.

Revisiting the nanocrystal formation process of zero-dimensional perovskite

Xiaojia Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the luminescent mechanism of Cs4PbBr6 by analyzing the real-time formation process of nanocrystals, identifying two stages in the process and extracting the activation energy for the transformation. The observation of transformation from white to black spots suggests that the black spots are responsible for photoluminescence emission, despite their amorphous nature.
