Inclusive and exclusive neutrino-nucleus cross sections and the reconstruction of the interaction kinematics

B. Bourguille et al.

Summary: This study presents a full kinematic analysis of neutrino-nucleus charged current quasielastic interactions using the Local Fermi Gas model and the Random Phase Approximation. The model was implemented in the NEUT Monte Carlo framework to investigate potentially measurable observables. The comparisons were made with recent experimental results to pursue a correct reconstruction of the incoming neutrino kinematics, free of biases.

Use of neutrino scattering events with low hadronic recoil to inform neutrino flux and detector energy scale

A. Bashyal et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that low hadronic recoil events can be used to measure parameters of neutrino flux and detector models, and can help discriminate among parameters affecting the neutrino flux model. By fitting a large sample of low-v events obtained from MINERvA exposed to the NuMI medium-energy beam, it was found that the best-fit flux parameters were within their a priori uncertainties. Additionally, the energy scale of muons reconstructed in the MINOS detector was shifted by 3.6%, suggesting the potential application of this technique in other experiments such as DUNE operating at similar energies.

Constraining the NuMI neutrino flux using inverse muon reactions in MINERvA

D. Ruterbories et al.

Summary: Inverse muon decay, nu(mu)e(-) -> mu(-)v(e), is a reaction with very small uncertainties in its predicted cross section. It has a neutrino energy threshold of approximately 11 GeV and can be used to constrain the high-energy part of the flux in the NuMI neutrino beam, being the dominant source of events containing only high-energy muons nearly parallel to the direction of the neutrino beam.

Comparison of validation methods of simulations for final state interactions in hadron production experiments

S. Dytman et al.

Summary: Neutrino cross section and oscillation measurements rely heavily on modeling hadronic final state interactions, which often introduce large uncertainties. Validating FSI models using hadron-nucleus data adds further uncertainties. Alternatively, using transparency data to measure the probability of interaction as a function of hadron energy can provide insight into the relationship between pi(+) and proton total reaction cross section and transparency.

Modeling quasielastic interactions of monoenergetic kaon decay-at-rest neutrinos

A. Nikolakopoulos et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the quasielastic scattering of 236 MeV neutrinos on C-12 and Ar-40, with special attention to low-energy aspects of the process. The model describes nuclear interactions using mean-field approach and CRPA framework to incorporate long-range correlations. This research presents future prospects for precision KDAR cross-section measurements and applications in various experiments utilizing these monoenergetic muon neutrinos.
