A novel low-temperature reduction route from gamma-phase Fe2O3 to Fe with carbon is discovered, achieving the lowest recorded reduction temperature of 430 degrees C.
Fe2O3 reduction to Fe with carbon requires a high temperature of 1200 degrees C in a blast furnace process. We have discovered a novel low-temperature reduction route from gamma-phase Fe2O3 to Fe with carbon. The reduction temperature was 430 degrees C, which is the lowest recorded up to now.
