Multilayer Random Sequential Adsorption

Priyabrata Parida et al.

Summary: In this study, a variant of the multilayer random sequential adsorption process is proposed, inspired by orthogonal resource sharing in wireless communication networks. The density of rods of a given color is estimated using two approximations, with the second one being more accurate but computationally intensive. The method is extended to estimate the density of circles in the two-dimensional case. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations validate the accuracy of the results.

Multilayer Microstructured High-Sensitive Ultrawide-Range Flexible Pressure Sensor With Modulus Gradient

Xiaozhou Lu et al.

Summary: This article introduces a flexible pressure sensor with modulus gradient and multilayered microstructure, which exhibits ultra-high sensitivity and wide measurement range. The sensor demonstrates good linearity, repeatability, rapid response time, low detection limit, and long-term durability. Experimental results suggest that the sensor can be used for detecting mechanical vibrations, pulse, and human motions, as well as measuring spatial pressure distribution.

Jamming and percolation in the random sequential adsorption of a binary mixture on the square lattice

Sumanta Kundu et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the competitive irreversible adsorption problem using the random sequential adsorption model. We found that for a binary mixture of adsorbing molecules, the percolation threshold for monomers is lower compared to the case with only monomers. Additionally, at lower relative flux values, the percolation threshold for monomers decreases with increasing flux or size of the largest species.

A high-sensitive dopamine electrochemical sensor based on multilayer Ti3C2 MXene, graphitized multi-walled carbon nanotubes and ZnO nanospheres

Meijun Ni et al.

Summary: A highly-sensitive dopamine electrochemical sensor has been constructed based on two-dimensional transition metal carbide MXene, and density flooding theory has been used to reveal the redox process of dopamine. This sensor exhibits a wide linear range, low detection limit, high sensitivity, and excellent stability and anti-interference ability.

Hyperbolic metamaterials based on multilayer Ag/TiNxOy structure for SPR refractive index sensors

Hong-Zhuo Gao et al.

Summary: Plasmonic sensors based on hyperbolic metamaterials offer great potential for high sensitivity, low-cost, label-free detection of single molecules. In this study, we designed a thin film structure based on traditional silver plasma material and prepared a TiN(x)O(y) material, which acted as the dielectric component. Finite-difference time-domain simulations were used to determine the optimal number of layers, and a device was fabricated using magnetron sputtering. The results showed excellent response to refractive index changes in the near-infrared band, making it suitable for plasmonic refractive index sensing.
