Efficacy of nonexcisional treatment modalities for superficially invasive and in situ squamous cell carcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Jacob R. Stewart et al.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the recurrence rates of SCCIS and SCC treated with different nonexcisional treatment modalities. It was found that electrodessication with curettage or cryotherapy with curettage had lower recurrence rates compared to other treatments such as photodynamic therapy, 5-fluorouracil, or imiquimod in treating SCCIS and SCC.
