Theory of superconductivity in doped quantum paraelectrics

Yue Yu et al.

Summary: Recent experiments have shown that the superconducting energy gap to transition temperature ratio in Nb-doped SrTiO3 remains consistent with the BCS value. We propose a microscopic theory for this phenomenon, suggesting that Cooper pairing mediated by a single soft transverse-optical phonon is the most natural mechanism for the observed superconducting dome. We also demonstrate the consistency of this mechanism with the T-2 resistivity in the normal state. Lastly, we discuss the insights SrTiO3 provides for superconductivity in other quantum paraelectrics like KTaO3.

Fermi blockade of the strong electron-phonon interaction in modelled optimally doped high temperature superconductors

Andrey S. Mishchenko et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that strong electron-phonon interaction is masked by Fermi blockade effects and Migdal's theorem at high carrier densities, leading to a moderate manifestation. This is consistent with experimental observations in doped high temperature superconductors.

Bipolaron liquids at strong Peierls electron-phonon couplings

Alberto Nocera et al.

Summary: The study utilizes the density matrix renormalization group method to investigate a one-dimensional chain with Peierls electron-phonon coupling, showing stability against phase separation in the dilute density limit and indicating potential application of Peierls bipolaron liquids in high-Tc superconductivity.
