Energy-Efficient Data Transmission for Capacitive-Coupled Human Body Communication Systems

Luka Filipovic et al.

Summary: A energy-efficient and low-complexity method for capacitive-coupled human body communication (CC-HBC) systems, named impedance shift keying CC-HBC, is proposed in this letter. Information is mapped by the change of impedance between the transmitter's signal and the ground electrode, allowing transmission and demodulation of information between the transmitter and the receiver. The performance of this method is compared with frequency shift keying and on-off keying modulations.
