Tunable luminescence of silver-exchanged SOD zeolite thermally treated under mild conditions

Xinle Tian et al.

Summary: Luminescent silver nanoclusters were synthesized in SOD zeolites by incorporating Ag+ and Cs+ ions and adjusting the silver content, resulting in dynamic emission color shift. The addition of Cs+ ions significantly enhanced the luminescence intensity and photoluminescence quantum yields, changing the microenvironment surrounding the formed silver nanoclusters. The wide excitation range of these silver-zeolite composites opens up potential applications in NUV-LEDs.

Confinement of Highly Luminescent Silver Nanoclusters in FAUY Zeolite: A Study on the Formation Effects of Silver Nanoclusters and the Sensitization of Tb3+

Jianzhong Yu et al.

Summary: In this research, highly luminescent silver nanoclusters (Ag NCs) were prepared using Na-FAUY zeolite as a scaffold to hinder their aggregation. Efficient energy transfer from Ag NCs to Tb3+ was achieved in Ag+-Tb3+ dual-exchanged Na-FAUY zeolites and optimized conditions for Ag NCs doping and preparation were determined. The research also highlighted the competitive nature of available sites for Tb3+ and Agt, as well as the impact of Tb3+ loading on Si/Al ratios and luminescence properties of Ag NCs.

Synthesis of Nitride Zeolites in a Hot Isostatic Press

Sebastian Wendl et al.

Summary: The recently introduced nitridophosphate synthesis in a hot isostatic press enables simple access to large-scale product quantities from exclusively commercially available starting materials. This method is suitable for the synthesis of highly condensed functional nitridophosphates, and show promising results in the preparation of novel materials like nitridophosphate zeolites. Luminescence investigations on Eu2+-doped samples of AE(3)P(5)N(10)X (AE=Sr, Ba; X=Cl, Br) were carried out and characteristics of observed emission bands are discussed.

Competitive Adsorption of Xylenes at Chemical Equilibrium in Zeolites

Sebastian Caro-Ortiz et al.

Summary: This article investigates the competitive adsorption and selectivity of xylenes in zeolites under different conditions through Monte Carlo simulations. It is observed that shape and size selectivity entropic effects are predominant for small systems, while entropic effects become relevant for large systems due to the efficient arrangement of xylenes. For zeolites with two intersecting channels, the selectivity is determined by a competition between enthalpic and entropic effects.

Tailoring of White Luminescence in a NaLi3SiO4:Eu2+ Phosphor Containing Broad-Band Defect-Induced Charge-Transfer Emission

Ming Zhao et al.

Summary: The study successfully designed and synthesized white NaLi3Si1-xO4:Eu2+ materials with defect engineering, achieving white luminescence in single-dopant activated solid phosphors. Reducing the Si content resulted in white emission, with a newly appeared broadband yellow peak attributed to charge-transfer transitions involving Eu2+ and nearby defects.

Xiaohe Wang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated the unprecedented separation efficiency of CO2/CH4 in small-pore SAPO-RHO zeolite by exchanging protonated organic structure-directing agent with Na+, K+, or Cs+ ions. The Na+ form showed superior selectivity for CO2 separation with a record high separation factor. This work paves the way for gas separation using cation-tailored trapdoor effect in diverse silicoaluminophosphate zeolites.
