Summary: This study identified altered functional connectivity in OCD patients between task-positive regions in the temporal gyri and regions of the cingulo-opercular and default networks. Specifically, a lower score in one of the identified independent subcomponents significantly predicted greater symptom reduction with exposure and ritual prevention therapy. These findings suggest that an altered balance between task-positive and task-negative regions may contribute to the difficulty in controlling intrusive thoughts or urge in OCD patients.

Characterizing the Network Architecture of Emotion Regulation Neurodevelopment
