Thiocarbamates were synthesized in green solvents via a thiol-dioxazolone modified Lossen rearrangement under transition-metal free, additive free, and mild conditions. Polythiocarbamates were further prepared with excellent self-healing and shape-memory properties, showing great potential in the development of functional materials.
