G-quadruplex DNAzyme as peroxidase mimetic in a colorimetric biosensor for ultrasensitive and selective detection of trace tetracyclines in foods

Yue Tang et al.

Summary: The colorimetric method, despite being able to determine initial results by naked eyes, faces the challenge of low sensitivity for antibiotics detection in food. A ultrasensitive colorimetric biosensor based on G-quadruplex DNAzyme was proposed for rapid detection of trace tetracycline antibiotics. This biosensor has a low detection limit and good recovery rates, showing promising application prospects for tetracycline detection in foods.

Collaborative compounding of metal?organic frameworks for dispersive solid-phase extraction HPLC?MS/MS determination of tetracyclines in honey

Yue-Hong Pang et al.

Summary: The study developed a method for trace determination of tetracyclines in honey using MOFs for d-SPE. By compounding MIL-101 (Cr), MIL-100 (Fe) and MIL-53 (Al) at a ratio of 7:1:2, effective adsorption-extraction was achieved.

Interactions of microplastics and antibiotic resistance genes and their effects on the aquaculture environments

Han Dong et al.

Summary: This review discusses the ecological effects of microplastics and antibiotic resistance genes in aquaculture environments. The widespread use of antibiotics in agricultural production leads to the presence of antibiotic residues in water and the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Additionally, water microplastics act as carriers of environmental microbes and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, potentially entering aquaculture environments and eventually the human body through food chains.

CRISPR-Cas12a-Powered Dual-Mode Biosensor for Ultrasensitive and Cross-validating Detection of Pathogenic Bacteria

Long Ma et al.

Summary: The study proposed a CRISPR-Cas12a-powered dual-mode biosensor for ultrasensitive and cross-validating detection of pathogenic bacteria, with satisfactory selectivity for Salmonella and capabilities in food sample detection. The technology expands the reach of CRISPR-Cas system in biosensing and provides a general method for bacteria sensing with desirable sensitivity, specificity, and cross-validating capacity.
