DGFRS-2-A gas-filled recoil separator for the Dubna Super Heavy Element Factory

Yu. Ts. Oganessian et al.

Summary: The development of DGFRS-2 aims to improve the efficiency of studying heavy and superheavy nuclei. The gas-filled separator is optimized for synthesizing and studying heavy isotopes. The first test experiments show that DGFRS-2 has doubled transmission efficiency and reduced background by a factor of 200.

Simulations of recoil trajectories in Dubna Gas-Filled Recoil Separator 2 by GEANT4 toolkit

D. I. Solovyev et al.

Summary: This study presents a simulation model of the DGFRS-2 based on the GEANT4 toolkit and discusses the trajectory simulation methods of heavy ions in gaseous media. The calculation results agreed well with the test experiment data, allowing the model to be used for transmission determination and tuning of the separator in experiments aimed at investigating superheavy elements.

Properties of heaviest nuclei with 98 ≤ Z ≤ 126 and 134 ≤ N ≤ 192

P. Jachimowicz et al.

Summary: This study systematically determines ground-state and saddle-point shapes and masses for 1305 heavy and superheavy nuclei with Z = 98-126 and N = 134-192, including odd -A and odd-odd systems. Key parameters such as static fission barrier heights, separation energies, and Q(alpha) values are derived from these determinations. The research is performed within the microscopic-macroscopic method, using a deformed Woods-Saxon single-particle potential and a Yukawa-plus-exponential macroscopic energy for calculations.
