Highly Sensitive W18O49 Mesocrystal Raman Scattering Substrate with Large-Area Signal Uniformity

Yuting Ye et al.

Summary: A rapid and green microwave synthetic route was developed for the preparation of plasmonic W18O49 mesocrystals with no additives. The ultrathin nanowires and oxygen vacancy-rich building units, along with the periodic mesocrystal structure, significantly enhanced the SERS properties, achieving outstanding enhancement factor and ultralow detectable limit. The large-area SERS substrate fabricated showed a low relative standard deviation, indicating good reproducibility.

Quantification of deltamethrin residues in wheat by Ag@ZnO NFs-based surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy coupling chemometric models

Tianhui Jiao et al.

Summary: In this study, a nano-sensor using SERS-active silver nanoparticles-plated-zinc oxide nanoflowers was employed to quantify deltamethrin in wheat rapidly and sensitively. By utilizing mean centering coupled with successive projection algorithm-partial least squares regression, optimal predictive performance was achieved with low limit of detection, high recovery rates, and low relative standard deviation. The results suggested that the method could effectively quantify deltamethrin residue levels in wheat.

TiO2 nanorod arrays decorated with Au nanoparticles as sensitive and recyclable SERS substrates

Zheng Xie et al.

Summary: In this study, Au@TiO2 NRAs were demonstrated as sensitive SERS substrates with high reproducibility and stability. The excellent SERS performance can be attributed to the formation of high intensity hot spots located on the gap between Au nanoparticles, as illustrated by Frequency-domain finite element method (FEM). Additionally, the SERS substrates are extensively recyclable due to the well-known ability of TiO2 photocatalytic degradation of dye molecules under ultra-violet light.
