Effects of High Magnetic Fields on the Diffusion of Biologically Active Molecules

Vitalii Zablotskii et al.

Summary: The study shows that a high static magnetic field (MF) has different effects on the diffusion of biologically active molecules such as oxygen, hemoglobin, and drugs. The equation describing the diffusion in the presence of MF is derived and solved, revealing the underlying mechanism of the MF's effect on diffusion. It is found that a high MF accelerates the diffusion of diamagnetic species while slowing the diffusion of paramagnetic molecules.

FT-IR saliva analysis for the diagnosis of psoriasis: A pilot study

Salvatore A. Pullano et al.

Summary: This study investigates the diagnosis of psoriasis through saliva profiling using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy and machine learning algorithms for automatic classification. The results demonstrate the potential of saliva analysis and multivariate analysis in the diagnosis and follow-up of inflammatory dermatopathies.

Diamagnetic Therapy in a Patient with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type I and Multiple Drug Intolerance: A Case Report

Roberta Roberti et al.

Summary: Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a neurologic chronic pain condition that is difficult to diagnose and treat. This case report describes a 69-year-old female patient with CRPS type I who experienced significant pain relief and reduction in edema after undergoing a weekly diamagnetic therapy protocol for 10 weeks. The findings suggest that diamagnetic therapy may be a non-invasive and safe adjunctive treatment for CRPS when pharmacological and invasive procedures are not effective or not preferred.

High-Intensity, Low-Frequency Pulsed Electromagnetic Field as an Odd Treatment in a Patient with Mixed Foot Ulcer: A Case Report

Roberta Roberti et al.

Summary: Lower-extremity ulcers are a common and costly condition, but there is no high-quality evidence to guide optimal treatment strategies. A multimodal approach, particularly for patients with comorbidity and polytherapy, may be necessary. Diamagnetic therapy shows promise as an effective add-on treatment for ulcers, as demonstrated in a case study of a 94-year-old female patient.

The Effect of Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields on Angiogenesis

Lihong Peng et al.

Summary: PEMF has been used to treat inflammation-based diseases such as osteoporosis, neurological injury, and osteoarthritis, and its clinical application may extend beyond the current scope by promoting angiogenesis. Studies have shown that PEMF can promote angiogenesis by increasing vascular growth rate and capillary density, potentially through mechanisms involving vascular endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and tube formation.

Effectiveness and safety of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and opioid treatment for knee and hip osteoarthritis: network meta-analysis

Bruno R. da Costa et al.

Summary: After analyzing a large number of trials, it was found that etoricoxib and diclofenac are the most effective oral NSAIDs for pain and function in patients with osteoarthritis. Topical diclofenac is a safer option. There is a balance issue in the clinical benefit versus potential harm of opioid treatment.

A Low-Frequency Pulsed Magnetic Field Reduces Neuropathic Pain by Regulating NaV1.8 and NaV1.9 Sodium Channels at the Transcriptional Level in Diabetic Rats

Cagil Coskun et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that LF-PMF helps in pain management primarily by regulating genes that code for specific sodium channel proteins. Particularly, under the application of 10 Hz PMF, the expression levels of NaV1.8 and NaV1.9 genes were re-regulated, leading to pain relief.
