Instagram Use and Body Dissatisfaction: The Mediating Role of Upward Social Comparison with Peers and Influencers among Young Females

Summary: This study found that browsing others' profiles on Instagram was associated with lower levels of body appreciation in females, which was fully mediated by upward social comparison with social media influencers. In contrast, commenting on others' looks and posting own content were not related to body dissatisfaction. These findings highlight the importance of public health interventions to raise awareness about the posting practices of social media influencers and to strengthen young females' resilience against social comparison processes.

Social Media Use and Body Dissatisfaction in Adolescents: The Moderating Role of Thin- and Muscular-Ideal Internalisation

Summary: The study found that social media use, internalisation of thin- and muscular-ideals were positively correlated with body dissatisfaction in adolescent boys and girls. Thin-ideal internalisation was the only variable significantly affecting body dissatisfaction in both genders, while muscular-ideal internalisation moderated the relationship between social media use and body dissatisfaction in boys.

Validation of a Tool to Evaluate Drug Prevention Programs Among Students

Summary: This study aimed to verify the semantic validity and reliability of an instrument developed to evaluate the results of a government drug prevention program for schoolchildren. The questionnaire showed high factorial validity, reliability, and understanding by adolescents, which will be suitable for evaluating the program's results in a randomized controlled trial after necessary changes identified in this study.
