Hadronic vacuum-polarization contribution to various QED observables

Summary: This study emphasizes the importance of accurately evaluating QED observables such as the Lamb shift in hydrogen-like atomic systems, as well as the contribution of hadronic vacuum polarization (hVP) to various observables. The calculation accuracy for the hVP term is crucial, and attention must also be paid to the impact of next-to-leading-order (NLO) hVP corrections.

Summary: The experiment presented the first results of the Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) Muon g - 2 Experiment for the positive muon magnetic anomaly a(mu) (g(mu) - 2)/2, which determined the anomaly from precision measurements of two angular frequencies. The result showed a deviation of 3.3 standard deviations from the standard model prediction, in agreement with previous measurements, increasing the tension between experiment and theory.
