Observation of the Decay Λb0 → Λc+ τ-(ν)over-barτ

R. Aaij et al.

Summary: This article reports the first observation of the semileptonic b-baryon decay Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda(+)(c) tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau), with the results consistent with the standard model prediction.

Visible energy and angular distributions of the charged particle from the τ-decay in b → Cτ (μ(ν)over-barμντ, πντ, ρντ)(ν)over-barτ reactions

Neus Penalva et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the d(2)Gamma(d)/(d omega d cos theta(d)), d Gamma(d)/d cos theta(d), and d Gamma(d)/dE(d) distributions defined in terms of the visible energy and polar angle of the charged particle from tau-decay. We consider the deviations from the predictions of the standard model and the construction of new physics operators using both right- and left-handed neutrino fields. Results are presented for Lambda(b) -> Lambda(c)tau and (B) over bar -> D-(*())tau sequential decays, which could be used to distinguish between different new physics models.

Unbinned angular analysis of B → D*lνl and the right-handed current

Z. R. Huang et al.

Summary: In this article, we conducted a sensitivity study on the unbinned angular analysis of the B -> D*l nu(l) decay, taking into account the contributions from the right-handed current. We demonstrated that the angular observable can provide strong constraints on the right-handed current without the need to solve the unresolved V-cb puzzle.

The measurable angular distribution of Λb0→Λc+→Λ0π+τ-→π-vτvτ decay

Quan-Yi Hu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the Lambda b0 decay and constructs a measurable angular distribution to address issues that cannot be precisely determined in measurements. The study finds that different NP hypotheses have effects on angular observables, except for two specific observables.

Time-reversal asymmetries and angular distributions in Λb → ΛV

Chao-Qiang Geng et al.

Summary: The study investigates time-reversal (T) asymmetries in the decays of Lambda(b) -> Lambda V by analyzing spin correlations, suggesting nonfactorizable effects or new physics play a significant role in the decay of Lambda(b) -> Lambda phi. The research also explores possible T-violating effects from new physics in the decay process.

Averages of b-hadron, c-hadron, and τ-lepton properties as of 2018 Heavy Flavor Averaging Group (HFLAV)

Y. Amhis et al.

Summary: This paper reports world averages of measurements of b-hadron, c-hadron, and tau-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavour Averaging Group using results available through September 2018. Adjustments are made to common input parameters used in various analyses to common values, taking known correlations into account. The averages include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, CP violation parameters, parameters of semileptonic decays, and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements.

Testing leptoquark/EFT in (B)over-bar → D(*)l(v)over-bar at the LHC

Syuhei Iguro et al.

Summary: The study investigates LHC constraints on New Physics using leptoquark models and an effective-field-theory Hamiltonian. It shows differences between LQs and EFT in terms of applicable LHC bounds. The EFT description is found to be invalid for searching for LQs with mass less than or equal to 10 TeV at the LHC and may lead to overestimated bounds. Future prospects for high luminosity LHC searches include exploring charge asymmetry in background and signal events.

New physics in the angular distribution of Bc- → J/ψ(→μ+μ-)τ-(→π-ντ)ντ decay

Quan-Yi Hu et al.

Summary: In the study of Bc- -> J/psi(-> mu (+)mu (-))tau (-)nu tau decay, a measurable angular distribution is constructed by considering the subsequent decay tau (-) -> pi (-)nu (tau). The research predicts the q(2) distribution of angular observables and lepton-flavor-universality ratios within the Standard Model and at various NP benchmark points, highlighting the sensitivity of the ratios to the presence of pseudo-scalar operators. The study also discusses symmetries in angular observables and proposes a model-independent method to determine the existence of tensor operators.

New physics and the tau polarization vector in b → cτντ decays

Neus Penalva et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the role of the tau polarization vector P mu in the context of lepton flavor universality violation studies. The analysis reveals that a P -> component perpendicular to the plane defined by the three-momenta of the final hadron and the tau lepton is only possible for complex Wilson coefficients, indicating potential physics beyond the Standard Model. Different NP scenarios for various decays can be discriminated through detailed study of the polarization vector components, with special attention paid to corrections from complex Wilson coefficients in specific reactions.

Semileptonic weak decays of antitriplet charmed baryons in the light-front formalism

C. Q. Geng et al.

Summary: The semileptonic decays of B-c -> B(n)l(+)nu(l) were systematically studied using the light-front constituent quark model, determining the spin-flavor structures of the constituents in baryons and calculating decay branching ratios and asymmetry parameters. Results are in agreement with experimental data, with predictions for specific decays consistent with literature and verifiable through experiments. Some results for Xi(+(0))(c) semileptonic channels can be tested at various experimental facilities.
