FCC-ee overview: new opportunities create new challenges

Alain Blondel et al.

Summary: With high luminosity, clean experimental conditions, and a wide range of energy coverage, FCC-ee offers abundant physics possibilities and has high potential for discoveries. It serves as an essential and complementary step towards a 100 TeV hadron collider, providing a uniquely powerful combined physics program. The main challenge now is to design experimental systems that can fully exploit these extraordinary opportunities.

Measurement of the W boson mass

R. Aaij et al.

Summary: The mass of the W boson is measured using collision data from the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. By simultaneously fitting the distributions of muon momenta in W->mu y decays and the phi* distribution in Z->mu mu decays, the mass of the W boson is determined. The measurement takes into account various sources of uncertainties. The result agrees well with the prediction from the global electroweak fit and previous measurements.

Cornering the Two Higgs Doublet Model Type II

Oliver Atkinson et al.

Summary: We performed a comprehensive study on the allowed parameter space of the 2HDM-II, combining various observables and theoretical constraints to obtain bounds on the mass spectrum. The 2HDM-II fits the data slightly better than the SM, with heavy Higgs masses around 2 TeV and a value of tan beta about 4. We found that the wrong-sign limit is disfavored and deviations from the alignment limit are tiny. Additionally, our study suggests that a strong first order phase transition is strongly discouraged within the 2HDM-II.

Inert Higgs Dark Matter for CDF II W-Boson Mass and Detection Prospects

Yi-Zhong Fan et al.

Summary: The recent measurement of the W-boson mass at Fermilab suggests the presence of new multiplets beyond the standard model. The introduction of an additional scalar doublet can naturally handle the new W-boson mass and the lightest scalar in the doublet can play the role of dark matter.

New physics effects on the W-boson mass from a doublet extension ofthe SM Higgs sector

Henning Bahl et al.

Summary: In this paper, possible new physics contributions to the W-boson mass from extended Higgs sectors are analyzed, focusing on the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model as an example. The compatibility between parameter regions of the model and the latest CDF experimental results is assessed, along with the compatibility with other precision measurements.

Impact of the CDF W-mass anomaly on two Higgs doublet model

Yongtae Heo et al.

Summary: In this study, the implication of the recent CDF W-mass anomaly is considered within the framework of the two Higgs doublet model. It is found that the large deviation of the Sand T parameters from their SM values leads to an upper limit of about 1 TeV on the heavy charged and neutral Higgs bosons.

Electroweak precision fit and new physics in light of the W boson mass

Chih-Ting Lu et al.

Summary: The measured W boson mass deviates significantly from the prediction of the Standard Model, indicating the presence of nondegenerate multiplets beyond the Standard Model. By performing a global electroweak fit with the new W boson, new values of the oblique parameters are obtained, which can be accommodated in the two-Higgs doublet model.

HiggsSignals-2: probing new physics with precision Higgs measurements in the LHC 13 TeV era

Philip Bechtle et al.

Summary: HiggsSignals is a program that confronts model predictions with available Higgs signal rate and mass measurements, resulting in likelihood estimates. The new version, HiggsSignals-2, includes improvements in handling template cross section measurements and statistical interpretations. The performance of HiggsSignals is illustrated with example analyses, highlighting the importance of public information on experimental details.
