Thermoelectric transport coefficients of hot and dense QCD matter

Arpan Das et al.

Summary: The article discusses the thermoelectric effects in hot and dense strongly interacting matter, estimating the Seebeck coefficients using the relativistic Boltzmann equation. Quark matter is modeled by the two flavor Nambu-Jona-Lassinio (NJL) model, while hadronic matter is modeled by the hadron resonance gas (HRG) model, with an estimation of transport coefficients and relaxation times. Additionally, the formalism of the thermoelectric effect in the presence of an external magnetic field is discussed, providing estimations for the magneto-Seebeck coefficient and the Nernst coefficient for hot and dense QCD matter.

Novel Relaxation Time Approximation to the Relativistic Boltzmann Equation

Gabriel S. Rocha et al.

Summary: The widely used relaxation time approximation to the relativistic Boltzmann equation has flaws when energy-dependent relaxation time or general matching conditions are considered. A new approximation is proposed to address these issues while maintaining basic properties of the linearized Boltzmann collision operator. The correction is shown to affect transport coefficients such as bulk viscosity and particle diffusion.

Nonlinear Constraints on Relativistic Fluids Far from Equilibrium

Fabio S. Bemfica et al.

Summary: New constraints have been identified for Israel-Stewart-like theories of fluid dynamics to be causal far from equilibrium. Sufficient conditions have also been presented to ensure causality, local existence, and uniqueness of solutions in these theories. The findings provide fundamental constraints on the magnitude of viscous corrections in fluid dynamics far from equilibrium, without simplifying symmetry or near-equilibrium assumptions.

Study of freeze-out dynamics of strange hadrons

Sushant K. Singh et al.

Summary: By microscopic calculation, it is found that the chemical freeze-out behavior of strange hadrons differs under different expansion modes – freezing out early in a fast expansion and taking longer to decouple in a slower expansion. This calculation may provide a guideline for understanding the freeze-out behavior of strange hadron species at RHIC and LHC predicted by thermal models while explaining identified particle yields.

Diffusion coefficient matrix of the strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma

Jan A. Fotakis et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the diffusion properties of the strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma (sQGP) using the dynamical quasiparticle model (DQPM), examining the diffusion coefficient matrix for baryon, strange, and electric charges. The calculation is based on two methods - the Chapman-Enskog method and the relaxation time approximation (RTA) - and shows good agreement with available lattice QCD data for electric charge diffusion coefficient at vanishing baryon chemical potential. The knowledge of diffusion coefficient matrix is important for more accurate hydrodynamic simulations.

Effects of hadronic repulsive interactions on the fluctuations of conserved charges

Somenath Pal et al.

Summary: This study shows that repulsive interactions play a crucial role in describing hadronic matter near the transition temperature, particularly in fluctuations. Mesonic repulsive interactions cannot be neglected, and the repulsive interaction of baryons is essential for describing higher order fluctuations at finite baryon chemical potential in lattice simulations.

Shear viscosity and electric conductivity of a hot and dense QGP with a chiral phase transition

Olga Soloveva et al.

Summary: In this study, we calculated transport coefficients for strongly interacting quark matter in the extended PNJL model. We found that the shear viscosity over entropy ratio and the ratio of electric conductivity to temperature exhibited similar temperature and chemical potential behaviors when approaching the chiral phase transition. However, the differences between the two methods of calculation increased with temperature.
