Monocular 3-D Object Detection Based on Depth-Guided Local Convolution for Smart Payment in D2D Systems

Jun Li et al.

Summary: This article proposes a monocular 3-D object detection method based on depth-guided local convolution, which combines the information of RGB image mode and depth mode by using a convolution kernel through depth image and works on a single RGB image locally. The method adaptively adjusts the convolution kernel to capture target objects of different scales based on multiscale input information, thereby improving the performance of 3-D object detection. In addition, a soft non-maximum suppression algorithm is used to select the best prediction box, and the depth estimation network and 3-D object detection network are jointly trained to achieve the best performance.

ConvMLP-Mixer Based Real-Time Stereo Matching Network Towards Autonomous Driving

Cheng Liu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes CMNet, a lightweight stereo matching architecture that improves the trade-off between speed and accuracy in resource-limited devices. It introduces a novel feature extraction network consisting of a patch embedding layer and a ConvMLP-mixer to enhance feature vectors and increase accuracy of the disparity map. The absolute difference volume is concatenated with the group-wise correlation volume to provide multi-dimensional matching cost information for cost aggregation. CMNet achieves state-of-the-art results in terms of speed and accuracy on the KITTI 2012 and KITTI 2015 stereo matching datasets.

A Low-Texture Monocular Visual Odometer Based on Point-Line Feature

Gaofeng Pan et al.

Summary: In this study, a low-texture monocular visual odometer based on point-line features is proposed to address the challenge of insufficient effective point features in low-textured scenes. The accuracy and robustness of data association are improved by combining point and line features, leading to the construction of an environmental-feature map with geometric information. Evaluations on the TUM RGB-D benchmark show that the use of lines not only enhances the performance in poorly textured frames but also systematically improves the solution in sequence frames combining points and lines without compromising efficiency.
