Oxygen defects in Co3O4 crystals were found to be crucial in improving catalytic activity for the removal of propane.
Oxygen defects often play an important role in catalytic performances for the catalytic elimination of propane. Herein, oxygen vacancies of Co3O4 crystals were modulated by controlling the calcination temperature. The Co3O4 catalyst exhibits a 90% propane removal at 170 degrees C under given conditions. A series of characterization techniques prove that defective oxygen was a crucial factor in improving catalytic activity.
