Identification and fine mapping of qGR6.2, a novel locus controlling rice seed germination under salt stress

Peng Zeng et al.

Summary: Thirteen QTLs related to seed germination traits were identified from an indica landrace Wujiaozhan (WJZ) under both water and salt conditions. A major salt-tolerance-specific QTL qGR6.2 was fine mapped to a 65.9-kb region, providing potential target for marker-assisted selection in improving rice seed germination under salt stress.

Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) to Identify Salt-Tolerance QTLs Carrying Novel Candidate Genes in Rice During Early Vegetative Stage

Leila Nayyeripasand et al.

Summary: This study identified rice genomic regions associated with early stage salinity tolerance and candidate genes using genome-wide association study. The identified genes can be used for improving salinity tolerance in rice breeding programs and further study can help uncover the mechanisms of salinity tolerance at molecular level.

Brassinosteroids suppress ethylene-induced fruitlet abscission through LcBZR1/2-mediated transcriptional repression of LcACS1/4 and LcACO2/3 in litchi

Xingshuai Ma et al.

Summary: The study found that brassinosteroids can suppress ethylene-induced fruitlet abscission by regulating the expression of genes related to ethylene biosynthesis. LcBZR1/2 repress the transcription of LcACS1/4 and LcACO2/3 to achieve this regulation.

Brassinosteroids: Molecular and physiological responses in plant growth and abiotic stresses

Muhammad Bilal Hafeez et al.

Summary: Abiotic stresses are a major constraint in agriculture development, leading to decreased crop productivity. Plants adapt to stresses by changing physiological and molecular processes modulated by phytohormones like brassinosteroids (BRs). BRs play a positive role in plant growth and abiotic stress tolerance by regulating physiological processes and molecular signaling cascades.
