Amino-Functionalized Pore-Expanded MCM-41 for CO2 Adsorption: Effect of Alkyl Chain Length of the Template

Linlin Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, an adsorbent for capturing CO2 was obtained by impregnating polyethylenimine (PEI) into MCM-41 with different alkyl chain lengths of a reserved template. The results showed that the CO2 adsorption performance of the adsorbent was sensitive to the alkyl chain length of the template, with the adsorbent containing the C16 template exhibiting the highest CO2 adsorption capacity. The appropriate alkyl chain length played an important role in enhancing PEI distribution and reducing CO2 transfer resistance.
